How It Happened
After nearly 75 minutes of scoreless action, the Blue Devils broke the deadlock with their first goal of the season. The play began when CCSU gained possession off a Rhode Island corner kick and took the ball the length of the field. Eddie Yepes eventually played a pass up to Panos Ravanis who took the ball into the box and fired a shot past Rhody's Stefan Schmidt for the 1-0 lead.

The Rams evened it up less than three minutes later on a goal by Filippo Tamburini. At the near corner of the box, Edvin Akselsen sent a free kick toward the far post, where a header from Niklas Middrup bounced off the post and to out Tamburini, who headed in his second goal in as many games. Rhody nearly pulled ahead two minutes later when Noam Kolakofsky blasted an attempt off the crossbar and Central Connecticut's Jason Dubrovich made a fully-extended save on the rebound attempt by Stavros Zarokostas.

The Rams also had back-to-back headers by Charlie Booth and Ludvik Benco ricochet out off the crossbar in the 92nd minute.
