KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island men's track and field head coach John Copeland was named the 2020 Northeast Region Indoor Coach of the year, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) last week. Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches.

Copeland, in his 37th year with the Rams, led Rhody to its 24th Atlantic 10 title this past indoor track and field season. He was named the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Coach of the year for the 11th time in his career after winning the 12th conference indoor crown.
