Six Rams Named to Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island men's track and field had six individuals named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team, the conference announced Monday. Rhody had the most selections in the league. Davidson, George Mason, and La Salle each had three selections, while VCU had two honored.

The all-rookie team is comprised of the top-rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the regular indoor season through the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship. The team was selected based off meet results submitted through the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFFRS). For Rhody, the top performers in the conference were La'Rue Martin in the 60 meters (6.91s), Roniel Mata in the 500 meters (1:03.71), Collin Ochs in the 1000 meters (2:26.40), D.J. Smalls in the pole vault (4.91m), Nick Morse in the shot put (15.82m), and Jide Akinjisola in the weight throw (17.74m).
