KINGSTON, R.I. - Nearly all of Rhode Island home women's basketball games will be broadcast locally on Cox/YurView this season. Partnering with the University's Harrington School of Communication and Media, Cox/YurView will work with URI students using the school's brand new, state-of-the-art $1.25 million broadcast center.

It will be the most extensive television coverage in the history of the URI women's basketball program, as Cox/YurView will carry 11 games. One additional game will be a nationally televised contest, putting 12 of Rhody's 13 home games on television. Each of the games carried by Cox/YurView also will stream live on ESPN+.

In addition to the Cox/YurView games, Rhody will host VCU on Jan. 4 in a game carried on CBSSN. The Rams also have TV time in games at Harvard (Dec. 30) and at Davidson (Jan. 12). The matchup against Harvard will be aired locally on NESN, while the game at Davidson will be on NBCSN.

The Harrington School of Communication and Media broadcast center - housed in the Chafee Social Science Center - has undergone extensive renovations over the last year, leading to an ultramodern studio and control room with the latest in digital production, streaming and broadcasting technology. The studio gives students the opportunity and experience to learn in a hands-on environment while working alongside producers and professional staff from Cox/YurView.
